WHAT IS #artypartyakron?
The CASA/GAL Volunteer Board is hosting our 2nd annual event called #artypartyakron. This is a juried art show featuring 100 works of art from local artists ranging from young people in grades pre-school to college. All pieces will be judged and awards will be given to each of the winners along with certificates of recognition to all of the participants. The art will be auctioned off at a fun and exciting event and all proceeds will go to the CASA/GAL Program of Summit County.
WHAT IS CASA/GAL?
Often referred to as “Guardian Ad Litem” the Mission of the CASA Program is: “To provide every child who enters the court system as a result of allegations of abuse, neglect or dependency with a trained community volunteer to advocate what is in the child’s best interest.”
Volunteer advocates offer judges the critical information they need to ensure that each child’s rights and needs are being attended to while in foster care.
Volunteers work with children until they are placed in loving permanent homes. For many children, a CASA volunteer is the only constant adult presence in their lives.
